A teacher accused of sexually molesting six Njoro Girls High School students has been denied bail. The teacher will remain in custody until all the students have testified. Chief Magistrate Doreen Mulekyo said the case would be heard on a priority basis starting July 6. The girls were allegedly indecently assaulted by the Kiswahili teacher, Mr Paul Gicheru. State prosecutor Michael Rabera told the court that the teacher had started threatening the girls with dire consequences if they dared testify against him.
